In all the Style Boutique games, the one playable character is a female avatar. At the start of the game, there is always an option to customise her appearance to the player's liking. This article focuses on the playable character in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star.

Early in the game, you unlock Makeup, where you can customize model's blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick colors and styles, nails, where you can change your nail polish, and wardrobe, where you can change your outfit. Later on you can unlock the Hair Salon, where you can change your hairstyle and hair color, and Beautician, where you can buy more makeup and nail colors. Upon completing the game's story, you gain the ability to change your character's facial features, height etc in Options.
Personality[]
The player is deemed by basically all npcs as a very fashionable person, extremely talented at picking clothes for their customers. Npcs are quick to trust the player and depend on their help. In some interactions with npcs, the player can choose their character's reaction, usually the choice being a nice/helpful or sarcastic/rude/ignorant response.

Tim is the player's uncle and only named relative in the game.
Rosie[]
Rosie looks up to the player and sees her as a sort of adviser, as she is the first person she meets upon moving to the city.
